CHALLENGE
The West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce is where businesses grow and thrive. Business owners and non-profit organizations from Davis, West Sacramento, Woodland, and beyond rely on the Chamber to provide opportunities to convene, advocate for businesses by providing a unified voice on issues and projects affecting the area, and promote continuing education.
After the development of the West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce 2023 Action plan, the Chamber needed a refresh to its current digital newsletter. The newsletter is a bi-weekly source of business-related community news and resources.
APPROACH
Effective messaging fosters trust within a brief time frame. Often, detailed discussions or long bulleted lists dissuade folks from listening. We focused entirely on simplifying the previous version of the digital newsletter. This made it easier to read and increased engagement. We facilitated bi-weekly meetings with the CEO to determine the messaging strategy for the following issue. By focusing on the right message–with the right graphic elements–we increased open and click rates by 50%.
